Syracuse Plays UNC in Round 1 of ACC Tournament

cuse.com

With the regular season coming to an end, the Syracuse Orange prepare for the ACC tournament. The Orange ended their season on a high note as they defeated Navy 18-9. A win in the final game of the regular season can definitely give Syracuse an extra boost of momentum heading into the tournament.

The Orange finished the season as the seventh best team in the country. With a 9-3 record, the Orange finished the season with a four-game win streak, which made up for their early season struggles against Colgate.

The only two ACC teams that were ranked higher than the Orange nationally are #3 Duke and #6 Virginia. Fortunately for the Orange, they defeated Duke in a 9-8 overtime victory and lost a heartbreaking 15-14 match against Virginia in the Dome. Syracuse has already matched up pretty well against the better teams in the ACC, which could be a key factor heading in the tournament.

The Orange will play North Carolina tomorrow in the first round of the tournament.

The Orange will play North Carolina tomorrow in the first round of the tournament. These two teams faced off against each other in North Carolina earlier this season. The Orange came out on top with a 12-9 victory. They will look to capitalize on that victory and play just as hard tomorrow.

On the season, Syracuse has out scored their opponents 157-116. They are also averaging just over 44 shots per game. Syracuse has also dominated on ground balls and faceoffs. They have secured 92 more ground balls than their opponents and won 57 more faceoffs.
