Syracuse men's basketball wins big against Brown behind a big performance from Buddy Boeheim. WAER’s Josh Golden highlights his huge night and more.

The Orange (6-5, 1-0 ACC) jumped out to a quick lead against Brown and never let it go, defeating the Eagles 93-62. SU was fueled by a stellar performance from downtown, knocking down 13 of their 21 attempts from behind the three point line.

The Orange were led by none other than Buddy Boeheim tonight, who recorded a season high 28 points tonight on 11 of 19 shooting. After the game, Boeheim said that he’s very confident in his game right now, saying that “I’m capable of scoring in bunches and once I get going I know my guys are going to look for me and just tell me to go.” He really hit his stride early in the second half, putting up 12 points within the first four minutes of the half.

Additionally, one part of Buddy’s performance that stood out was his shooting from inside the three point line, shooting seven of 13. After the game, Coach Boeheim said that he’s been “trying to get him to get by and get that shot in the lane. That was his best shot last year.” It certainly was his shot tonight as well, leading the Orange to a big win off of a long layoff.

Another big part of SU’s 93-62 win was the return of a familiar face. Senior big man Bourama Sidibe returned to play his first minutes of the season after missing time with a knee injury that has plagued him throughout his collegiate career. However, despite his big return, which came with just 4:36 remaining in the game, Coach Boeheim says Sidibe isn’t quite ready for a full return yet. Coach Boeheim said Sidibe “just barely started to practice” and added that “it’ll take him at least a couple weeks before he can get his legs under him.”
