2025 county budget

Lawmakers made some budget-neutral changes to to the county executive's proposal earlier in the process, but other amendments pushed by Democrats Tuesday were rejected.

But lawmakers can still propose amendments before they take a final vote Oct. 8.

Sheriff Toby Shelley wants a more aggressive patrol vehicle replacement schedule and expresses urgency for buying a new Air One helicopter.

The commissioners presented a bi-partisan budget plan to add six workers to handle the growing volume of work.

The $1.56 billion spending plan increases overall spending by nearly six percent, but doesn't dip into reserves.
