COVID-19 vaccine children

New York residents continue to pass away due to COVID-19, influencing Gov. Kathy Hochul to ask New Yorkers to take the needed precautions to stay safe.

While the state starts to vaccinate using Omicron variant vaccine boosters, children 5 to 11 are now eligible for the next Pfizer-BioNTechCOVID-19 vaccine/booster as of August 31st.

Onondaga County and its partners are rolling out a COVID-19 vaccination plan for 5 to 11 year olds that will start tomorrow for children in the Syracuse city school district. It’s the first of many distribution sites following the CDC recommendation of the pediatric COVID vaccine for younger kids.
