Lunar New Year

Public schools across New York State will close on January 29 to observe the Asian Lunar New Year, marking the first time this holiday is officially recognized in the school calendar.

Orchestral works performed at the Redhouse Arts Center spanned Asian genres, composers, and countries, though most of the music was Chinese.

Gov. Hochul signed the legislation Saturday that recognizes a key piece of Asian culture.
