Local leaders say the combination of technical and arts programming will attract a wide range of students.

Crews are working feverishly to finish two floors of classroom space at the science, technology, engineering, arts, and math school in downtown Syracuse.

The STEAM School will offer hands-on learning in high-demand fields including animation and game design, entertainment engineering, and construction management.

STEM From Dance, a nationally offered program, is being brought to Syracuse this summer to empower middle school girls of color to consider careers in STEM using dance.

The regional STEAM school is set to open in the fall of 2025, but entry will require proof of a student’s interest in one of the school’s planned pathways.
