Raise the Age in New York ended the practice of sentencing some 16- and 17-year-olds to adult prisons when convicted of serious crimes. New research shows it has reached that goal, and prevented many from having criminal records that can cripple efforts to get a job, home or education. Child advocacy groups are now calling for more reform to aid child development over punishment.
