New York State law allows voters to take up to three paid hours to leave work and cast your ballot, as long as you provide a 48 hour notice to your employer.
If you need help voting, you may have any person of your choosing, excluding your employer or union representative, to assist you. Trained poll workers are also available to help.
In New York, convicted felons DO have the right to vote.
You may bring any information about candidates or ballot questions to the polls with you.
If you are a registered voter, and your name is missing from the list of voters at your polling site, you may vote by “affidavit ballot.”
Voter registration MUST be received 10 days prior to the election, on October 26th.
Early voting begins 10 days prior to the election, on October 26th. To vote early, you can bring your ballot to a voting site in your county from October 26th through November 3rd.
On October 26th ONLY, you can register and vote at the same time.
You need to bring your ballot to the County Board of Elections or a poll site by November 5th at 9 pm.
Your ballot needs to be mailed and postmarked by November 5th. It needs to reach the County Board of Elections by November 12th.
Go to a poll site in your county to cast your ballot on November 5th by 9 pm.
