CNY companies offered dozens of jobs at OCC employment fair. Some have sign-on bonuses and some job seekers could get hired on the spot. Many positions still available (see below)

Around 20 local companies tried to fill dozens of job openings at an employment fair at Onondaga Community College this week. The event drew about 50 job seekers, who in some cases could get hired on the spot. However, many positions remain open.

The positions offered range from restaurant work to health care, hotel jobs to construction and trades, accounting to government jobs and agriculture. Andy’s Produce and Food Service helped organize the event and is looking for drivers and warehouse workers. Other companies with multiple openings include: Byrne Dairy, Loretto, Dinosaur Barbeque, C-R Fletcher and others.

Some of the positions also include sign-on bonuses. many of the positions are still vacant so job seekers can contact the companies that participated.

Many businesses, here and across the nation, are having trouble finding workers while some people are getting enhanced unemployment benefits. Employers looking for specific skills are having even more trouble.
