Financial services firm Equitable will maintain its office space in the City of Syracuse and refurbish the space to meet their current workforce’s needs. Empire State Development will provide up to $9 million in Upstate Revitalization Initiative grant funding for Equitable renovations.

The upgrades to the historic 19-story Tower buildings on Madison Street will better support Equitable's multi-generational employees with more flexible work arrangements. The project is expected to cost a total of $65 million.

Equitable’s presence atop the cityscape of Syracuse is a point of pride, and the company’s people are a valued part of our Downtown Syracuse community. I am proud to join Empire State Development in celebrating Equitable's commitment to remain in the tower buildings that bear its name,” said Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh.

Equitable has been one of America’s leading financial services providing advice, protection and retirement strategies for the public since 1859.
