New York’s 22nd district representative Claudia Tenney announced she will run for the state’s proposed 23rd congressional district. This NY-23 would no longer include Utica, which Tenney now represents. However, it would include some areas of the old 22nd district, such as Chenango, Cortland, Broome, and Tioga Counties.
We are officially announcing our campaign for #NY23 this year! I look forward to meeting and earning the support of even more New Yorkers and getting to work for our region in Congress. pic.twitter.com/NlTfQKizFJ

“I have a strong conservative record of advocating for our Upstate values, fighting for our small business community including our local farmers, defending election integrity, fighting our Second Amendment Rights, supporting the natural gas industry, and holding the Biden Administration accountable,” said Tenney.
In her statement Monday, Tenney referred to the new maps created by the Legislature as “gerrymandered” by state democrats in an attempt “to silence Republicans.”
