A number of Central New York libraries will be receiving state funds for improvement projects such as digitizing collections, increasing online services, and diversifying community programming. State Senator John Mannion announced 8 libraries in his 50th State Senate district will each get $10,000.

Libraries receiving the funding include:

  • Community Library of Dewitt & Jamesville
  • East Syracuse Free Library
  • Fairmount Community Library
  • Fayetteville Free Library
  • Manlius Library
  • Maxwell Memorial Library
  • Minoa Free Library
  • Solvay Public Library

Fairmount Community Library Director Brenda Shea said in a statement, "In these challenging times, when members of our community are struggling, they reach out to libraries for essential services like internet access, resources and education. This operational funding helps us to provide more services to the greater community."
