The State Health Department has delivered an additional 110,000 doses of the Monkeypox vaccine to be distributed throughout New York
and downstate.
New York City is set to receive about 80,000 of the doses and the remaining 30,000 doses will be distributed throughout the New York.
These vaccine distribution efforts come as concerns about monkey pox in the state are rising. Governor Kathy Hochul said New York currently has more than a quarter of all cases in the country, and the LGBTQ+ community continues to be among the hardest hit.
The State said they will continue to push the federal government to give New York a fair share of the vaccine.
