The State Attorney General’s Office has filed a motion in an attempt to keep New York’s concealed carry gun laws intact following a temporary restraining order issued by a federal judge last week.
The law prohibits guns in sensitive places, enhances safe storage requirements, requires background checks on ammunition purchases and social media reviews before certain gun purchases.
In a statement, Attorney General Letitia James calls the Concealed Carry Improvement Act common sense gun control legislation. James said the law is critically needed to reduce gun violence.
