About $2 million in federal pandemic relief dollars will go to more than three dozen businesses and organizations across Syracuse to help boost the city’s commercial corridors.

The funds will leverage $54 million in additional private investments across 17 neighborhoods, Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh said in a statement. He anticipates the projects funded under the program will create more than 230 jobs and support 75 units of housing.

Grant awards range from $10,000 to $100,000, and will be used to support new construction, interior and exterior renovations, as well as beautification efforts. Two-thirds of the grants were awarded to for-profit entities that support minority and women entrepreneurs.
