A New Yorker, unable to vote in person, fills out a state absentee ballot.

The Onondaga County Board of Elections has flagged 193 absentee ballots that need voter corrections to be counted.

Voters can correct their ballot, but many have missing signatures, lack matching signatures or were unsealed in the oath envelope. The Board of Electionswill notify residents of their invalid votes, and the voter will have seven days to correct the ballot.

The news comes as citizens await the results of many tight races. Syracuse.com reports that nearly 100 of the absentee ballots are from voters in the 50th Senate District, where Republican Rebecca Shiroff is challengingincumbent Sen. John Mannion, a Democrat.

On Tuesday, State Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte decided that tallyingaffidavit ballots could move forward. Onlookers can observe the status of absentee ballots on the New York State elections tracker website.
