A reconstruction project will be underway on Clinton Street to convert it from a one-way road to two-way traffic.

Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh said in a release the reconstruction is projected to improve traffic flow and to give better pedestrian access through downtown and the Southside between West Jefferson and West Taylor Streets.

Included in the project is pavement restoration, new bike lanes, and curbside parking, according to release.

Detours will be in place to re-route southbound Clinton Street traffic. The project is set to begin on April 3 and finish six weeks later. The start date and timeframe of the project may vary depending on weather conditions.
