The state’s Higher Education Services office is reminding New Yorkers of the impact their tax dollars have made in supporting college students.

In the last academic year, $170 million in new scholarships was awarded to veterans, students in healthcare fields, and high-achieving, low-income students.

Nearly $700 million in TAP awards helped 255,000 students afford college. A study by the Higher Education office also found that students receiving TAP funds are more than twice as likely to graduate from four-year colleges compared to non-TAP students.

More information about state scholarships is available at hesc.ny.gov.
