Lysander residents have another chance Thursday to weigh in on the proposed moratorium on data storage centers before the town board takes a vote.

The planning board has already recommended that the town enact a six-month moratorium before the property owner, a local developer, seeks permission to build. The company is waiting to hear from the state if they can connect to the grid in order to power the center.

More than 1,800 residents have signed a petition opposing it. Tonight’s public hearing begins at 6:30.

In an email, Town Supervisor Kevin Rode asked residents to speak for or against the moratorium and not the merits of data centers.
