Lore of the Erie Canal Museum
Lore of the Erie Canal Museum
Join us under the full moon this October 20th for an evening tour unveiling the history and lore of the 1850 Weighlock Building. Originally serving as a Canalside weigh station for boats in the 19th-century the Greek revival building also served as offices for the State Department of Public Works in the early 20th century and finally became the Erie Canal Museum in 1962. This long history seems to have left its impression, and strolling through the building's ornate halls, one can feel the weight of this storied past. Guests will be treated to a historical tour of the Weighlock Building with behind the scene glimpses along with lore and extraordinary items and experiences from staff and guests. We hope you will visit us for this eerie evening tour! Tickets are $15 for Museum members and $20 for the Public. Ticket are available at: https://eriecanalmuseum.org/store/product/lore/
