4 Elements Studio is pleased to present Contrapposto, a new exhibition by sculptor Benjamin Entner, opening with a free public reception on Friday, September 5 from 5:00 -7:00 PM at The Westwood in Downtown Utica. Guests will enjoy light refreshments and the opportunity to meet the artist, who will be present to discuss his work. The exhibition will remain on view through October 24, 2025.In Contrapposto, Entner presents a series of three-dimensional collages that merge classical statuary with marine invertebrates and other organic forms. These works collide nostalgia and history with humor, scale, and unexpected juxtapositions. Inspired by his love of Classical and Renaissance history, Entner’s new series invites viewers into a world that feels at once alluring, nostalgic, and otherworldly. His goal: to spark childlike wonder within the gravitas of the art space.

When photographer Don Crumb takes a photograph, it is with the intention that the final image will evoke a sense of passion for and appreciation of the beauty that is all around us. Results of these efforts here in New York State will be shared with us in the new nature-themed exhibit at Baltimore Woods Nature Center.
The exhibit, titled “Nature Photography,” will be on view in the art gallery of the John A. Weeks Interpretive Center through October 27. The public is invited to attend the artist reception on Sunday, September 7 from 2:30pm until 4pm, when the show opens. This is an informal event when visitors can meet the artist, ask questions and enjoy refreshments. The exhibit may also be viewed Monday through Friday 9am - 4pm and Saturdays 10am - 4pm. There are no admission or parking fees, and all of the art work is for sale.

Join us on Zoom or in person for a lecture by landscape architect, Martha Lyon. Lyon recently completed an extensive Cultural Landscape Report for the Oneida Community Mansion House. A Cultural Landscape Report is a document that examines the complete history of a landscape for the way it developed in terms of plants, vegetation, architecture, and the ways in which it was used by humans throughout time. Lyon will share her richly illustrated findings about how the 13 acres surrounding the Mansion House have evolved from a farm to pleasure garden, private club to a museum campus and beyond.
This is the first time these findings will be shared publicly! It is not to be missed!
-All registrants will receive a Zoom link within 48 hours of registration.
-All proceeds support the preservation of the Oneida Community Mansion House and its educational programs.
