The Syracuse Pops Chorus is doing Broadway!
This family-friendly show will feature some of the best songs from Broadway musicals, including The Sound of Music, Godspell, Funny Girl, Wicked, Les Misérables, Oklahoma…and more!
The Syracuse Pops Chorus, directed by Lou Lemos and accompanied by pianist Lynnette Brown, is a group of about 100 highly skilled volunteers who sing for the joy of it. The repertoire consists largely of new choral arrangements of old standards: patriotic anthems, holiday favorites, Broadway and movie music, and songs from the American Songbook.
The group performs regularly with The Syracuse Orchestra (formerly Symphoria), and schedules concerts on its own, and with other partner groups. These have included sold-out shows at the Redhouse and Palace Theater, and a performance with the Albany Symphony at Paper Mill Island in Baldwinsville.
Admission is $20 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free. The approximately two-hour concert will include one intermission.
You will find plenty of free parking near the church and on the street. Disabled parking and the access elevator are on the Second Street side of the church.
The Syracuse Pops Chorus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Financial support comes primarily from membership dues, grants, and donations, which help to defray the chorus’s expenses. Donations to the Syracuse Pops Chorus are tax-deductible.
