1A Joins the WAER Programming Lineup

Change is in the air this fall!  Starting October 5th WAER adds the award-winning public affairs show 1A to the broadcast schedule.  Every day, 1A convenes a conversation about the most important issues of our time.  The show takes a deep and unflinching look at America, bringing context and insight to stories unfolding across the country and the world.

With a name inspired by the First Amendment, 1A explores important issues such as policy, politics, technology, and what connects us across the fissures that divide the country.  The show’s goal is to act as a national mirror – taking time to help America look at itself and to ask what it wants to be.  Produced by WAMU and distributed by NPR, 1A is hosted by seasoned journalist Jenn White whose voice you might recognized from the Making Oprah and Making Obama specials airing last February on WAER.  The program replaces On Point weekdays from 10AM – 12 Noon.  Show your support for 1A by donating here.

On Point Moves to 7 PM Weekdays

Fans of On Point will now be able to hear the show weekday evenings at 7 PM.  Produced by WBUR for NPR, On Point moves from a 2-hour format to 1 hour to fully explore the important issues of the day.  From the economy to health care to politics and the environment, host Meghna Chakrabarti speaks with newsmakers and real people about the issues impacting our lives.  On Point replaces Fresh Air on the broadcast schedule.
