Prices at the pump rise with the temperatures, but consumers can save by shopping around.

Drivers heading out on summer trips are seeing slightly higher gas prices this week here in the Syracuse area. The AAA reports a gallon of gas rose about three cents in the past week. The $3.59 average is slightly lower than a month ago and about 6 cents lower than a year ago.

However, shopping around can help; prices varied more than 50 cents a gallon according to a Gas Buddy-dot-com survey of local stations.
