For the third time this year a loaded firearm was found in a carry-on at Hancock Airport. TSA officers say the .45 caliber handgun was loaded with eight bullets and one in the chamber.
The passenger was a Utica resident who was questioned by police before he was allowed to travel. A TSA spokesman says the man will likely face a serious fine.
TSA officers remind passengers - firearms are allowed on planes only when they are unloaded and locked inside a hard-sided case. They must be declared at an airline check-in counter, and the gun will be stored in the belly of the aircraft.
