HEAP enrollment opens November 1 for NYSEG customers

As temperatures drop, some in Central New York are fearing upcoming utility bills more than winter itself.

November 1, New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) will start accepting applications for the Home Energy Assistance Program or HEAP.

The program provides eligible households with weatherization and helps with energy costs until March 17^th or until funds run out.

Customers enrolled in HEAP are automatically enrolled in the Energy Assistance Program, which offers a monthly bill credit. More information is available here.
