Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield's Health Equity Innovation Awards: Supporting Diverse Health Needs in Central New York

Central New Yorkers who face racial and ethnic health disparities could benefit from a half-million-dollar donation by Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield through its “Health Equity Innovation Awards.” The company is distributing the funds to 19 non-profit organizations across the state that deliver community programs to support those less fortunate.

Some of the local recipients are Crouse Health Foundation assisting expectant families with diverse needs and a program from SAGE Upstate reducing health disparities through social, fitness and health education opportunities.

Syracuse Community Health Center is receiving a grant helping pregnant and postpartum women dealing physical and emotional changes experienced from pregnancy.
