Syracuse to resurface nearly 27 miles of roads in 2025

Crews will begin paving city streets as part of a $25 million project approved by the Common Council, with work planned on major roads like East Brighton Avenue, East Colvin, and Midland Avenue.

Syracuse residents can expect to see road crews out as the city begins resurfacing nearly 27 miles of streets this year. The Common Council approved $25 million in bonding earlier this month to fund the project.

Work will focus on several major roads, including East Brighton Avenue between Thurber Street and Ainsley Drive, as well as from Brighton Towers to the city line. Crews will also repave East Colvin Street from Comstock Avenue to the city line and Midland Avenue between Ostrander Avenue and Seneca Turnpike.

City officials say the paving schedule is dependent on weather conditions and encourage residents to stay updated on roadwork plans.
