A former U.S. postal carrier from Auburn has been sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to repay nearly $15,000 in fraudulently obtained workers' compensation benefits.
Federal prosecutors say 36-year-old Christopher Gleason claimed benefits for a sprained ankle while working for the U.S. Postal Service. However, he admitted to falsely reporting that he was not working outside his federal job when he was actually employed in construction.
As part of his sentence, Gleason must pay full restitution for the benefits he improperly collected.
