05/12/25 Correction: WAER.org previously reported erroneous details of the Central Square school budget.

Southeastern Oswego County residents are being asked to approve a school district budget almost seven-percent higher than last year's, in school budget votes later this month. To be more precise, the 6.8% budget increase for the 2025-26 school year comes one year after the Central Square Central School District District’s tax increase of 4.23% in 2024-25.

Residents will also vote on a $1.7 million vehicle purchase, a $25,000 library tax increase. The 3,600-student district maintains a 90% graduation rate.

The proposed budget and propositions are available in the Central Square School District's newsletter. School budget votes in numerous districts are on May 20th.
