Housing costs in Central New York continue to rise, with prices up 10% from last year. While new listings are increasing, sales are slowing as affordability becomes a growing concern.

Housing costs in Central New York continue to rise, with the median home selling price reaching $234,000 in April — a 10% increase from the same time last year, according to the Greater Syracuse Association of Realtors.

Despite the price surge, the association reports a slowdown in single-family home sales, which dropped 14% year-over-year. April marked the sixth consecutive month of double-digit price growth.

While the number of new listings is on the rise, the association suggests that buyers searching for a deal may want to consider properties that have been on the market longer.
