Recently laid-off TCGplayer workers, local labor leaders, and some local politicians continue to protest eBay's announcement that the Syracuse Authentication Center is closing.

The closure and firing of mostly union employees is being labeled a union-busting campaign due to an ongoing dispute with workers over a contract for better wages. The Communications Workers of America has filed unfair labor practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board, and the former workers are collecting signatures for an online petition.

They also scheduled a protest for 6 p.m. May 27, 2025, outside the Authentication Center, denouncing the closure.
