Syracuse-area motorists are paying about 14 cents more per gallon for gas than they were a week ago. AAA reports a 13-cent increase, while GasBuddy puts the jump at 15 cents.

The average price for regular gas now sits at $3.17, though some stations are still offering prices below $3.

Military strikes in Iran and Israel have driven oil prices higher, with gas prices following suit. Worldwide uncertainty is expected to continue to push costs higher for at least the next few weeks.

AAA analysts agree, and suggest mapping routes, avoiding high traffic times, and combining trips to save on fuel costs.
