About 70 New York hospitals are at risk of closing under President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” A report from the Fiscal Policy Institute found that’s how many hospitals get more than a quarter of their patient revenue from government or Medicaid funding.

The study shows a simple 10 percent cut to Medicaid and state tax credits would remove profits entirely for seven out of eight hospitals operating here in the 22nd Congressional District.

The risk is far greater for 15 hospitals in congressional districts 21 and 23 – to our east and west.
