Drivers are paying around $3.11 per gallon as summer travel picks up.

Syracuse-area drivers saw gas prices inch down a bit more this past week, continuing a trend during the summer.

AAA reports, the prices at the pump compare to the lowest in the past 4 years. The average cost sits at around $3.11 for unleaded gas. You have to go back to July of 2021 to find prices as low.

Analysts at Gas Buddy.com say falling oil prices should keep gas relatively affordable well into August. That's good news for individuals or families considering summer travel.
