The Syracuse Peace Council planned an anti-nuclear war procession, discussion and art exhibit for Wednesday afternoon. The event commemorates the first use of nuclear weapons in war on August 6, 1945.
The theme is why nuclear weapons should never be used again -with a 4:30 p.m. procession from the north side of the Arts Atrium on E. Washington Street to the VPA Nancy Cantor Warehouse on E. Fayette St.
A reception and exhibit featuring art from Hiroshima bomb survivors, gathered by 2024 Nobel Prize recipient, Nihon Hidankyo, opens at 5:30 p.m.
