A Central New York State Senator is trying to generate opposition against New York’s Draft Energy Plan. The draft outlines how the state wants to set up a clean, reliable, affordable energy structure through 2040.
The New York Energy Planning Board is taking public comments until October 6. While many praise the plan, State Sen. Joe Griffo (R) Rome is urging New Yorkers to express their opposition due to its reliance on green energy and restrictions on items such as gas stoves as soon as next year.
Griffo said the plan undermines reliability, limits choice, and will drive up construction and energy costs for New Yorkers.
Public comments must be turned in by October 6 through the New York Energy Plan Website.
