Great weather greeted visitors young and old to Memorial Day parades Monday.

The weather could not have cooperated better for numerous Memorial Day parades around the Central New York region. That led to generous crowds and widespread participation for the event that honors and remembers those of the nation’s military who perished.

The Memorial Day Parade in Fayetteville included participants from a wide variety of organizations – and spanned both young and old. Military vehicles joined with marchers in uniform from various branches of the service and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The crowd enjoyed music along the parade route as the Syracuse Scottish Pipe Band went through and the Fayetteville-Manlius High School band marched by.
