Onondaga County is taking a step toward building out the infrastructure needed to treat industrial waste generated by Micron. They’ve issued what’s called a Request for Qualifications seeking contractors to create a system near the Oak Orchard plant in Clay to remove pollutants before discharging or reclaiming the water. It would include a pump station, pipes, and reclaimed water facilities. The plant would also serve other users in and around White Pine Commerce Park, the future site of the Micron semiconductor chip manufacturing plants.
