Workers in New York say that cost of living is the biggest issue facing their household. The New York at Work poll conducted by Cornell’s Center asked 2,600 New Yorkers what they experience in the world of work. More than 50% said they have access to employer sponsored health, vision and dental insurance, but that there are disparities to access those benefits based on race and education. Of those polled, 35% said they belong to a union and more than 50% said they favor strengthening employment protections in the state. Only 11% of respondents said they saw their personal finances improve over last year.
