New data show an ongoing decline in Canadian tourists crossing New York’s western and northern ports of entry.

Sen. Chuck Schumer’s office has been compiling numbers from the Bridge and Tunnel Operators Association. July’s numbers show a 22% decrease in crossings, or 500,000 fewer travelers compared to the same time last year. Since Trump took office, the total number of Canadian visitors had plummeted by two million.

Schumer blamed what he called Trump’s “reckless trade war” for the boycott, which he said is crushing the state’s summer tourism economy.
