North Syracuse residents have an opportunity Thursday, November 17 at 7:35 p.m. to weigh in on a proposed redevelopment of the former Hinerwadel’s clam bake property on West Taft Road in Clay.
Home builder Albirici purchased the 29-acre site over the summer and is seeking a zoning change to accommodate an 80 single-family home development and two commercial parcels.
The proposal includes space for a national daycare chain, a restaurant, and a library according to the project outline.
The developer is likely to face public criticism as it also asks to cut through a currently closed cul-de-sac along Wally Road to create traffic flow for the new complex.
The Clay Planning Board reviewed the proposal last month and voted unanimously in favor of the zone change with supportive comments.
The public hearing is scheduled at Clay’s Town Hall on Route 31 at 7:35 p.m.
