The Clay Town Board hosts hearing asking for a zoning change to accommodate a major residential and commercial development.

Residents want more accountability and money for local impacts it the tax and incentive deal for the Micron project.Onondaga County officials are set to finalize it Nov 17.

The town is the future site of Micron Technologies, which is building the country's largest semiconductor fabrication facility.

The Clay Town Board plans a hearing for a zoning change regarding the Micron project October 6 at Clay Town Hall. Public comments sought on a zone change needed for construction to go forward.

They came well prepared with questions. Some with environmental concerns speak several times due to a 3 minute time limit. Even some speakers who expressed support for the project had questions that require responses.

OCIDA approves the report, public comment period begins and public hearing sessions to be held at Liverpool High School.

County executive McMahon originally thought the statement release would happen in early June. He calls the process "pretty substantial" and reassured residents, "Everybody wants to get it right."

The public can view National Grid's permit request filed with the Public Service Commission.

The public has 30 days to weigh in and join a public meeting March 19th.

Residents say the constant traffic noise along I-481, Route 31 and Soule Road impacts their quality of life.
