Syracuse’s residents have six free concerts coming their way as part of the 2026 Jazz in the City lineup expands.
The first concert kicks off at the Spirit of Jubilee Park on June 4.
“We now do six concerts a year in all parts of the city, two in June, two in July and two in August accompanied by a robust healthcare village, local arts and crafts vendors, ethnic food vendors and volunteer and advocacy groups,” Executive Director Larry Luttinger, said.
He claims 50 percent of city residents are reluctant to stray from their neighborhoods, so it’s important to bring the music to them.
Syracuse Community Health Center will be there, too, offering free health screenings and - if a lead screening test is found positive - they'll help set up lead tests at homes and apartments.
“Screenings are great, right? But if you know that you have high lead, a diagnosis but, you don’t have the tool kit to be able to take care of those issues then, that’s where we can help,” Chief Operating Officer Jessica Yoxall said.
Jazz in the City happens on select Thursday nights at four locations, including two new venues.
