Ben Siegelheim

Volunteer Journalist

Ben Siegelheim is a broadcast journalist at Syracuse University pursuing a degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with an anticipated graduation in 2028. His media career began in high school where he served as head producer of his school's monthly television show while simultaneously taking on leadership responsibilities as school president.

Ben's interest in broadcasting led him to participate in a two-week intensive summer program at Syracuse focused on sports broadcasting and feature piece production. During this formative experience, he had the valuable opportunity to learn from industry professionals Matt Park and Olivia Stomski, gaining early insights into professional media production.

At WAER, Syracuse's NPR station, Ben works as a content creator developing digital and radio stories. Though he maintains particular interest in news and political coverage, he approaches his journalistic work with an open mind and versatility, ready to explore various content areas as he builds his professional portfolio.

His combined experience in production, leadership, and content creation establishes a strong foundation for Ben's developing career in broadcast journalism.
