Afro Futures: Jawanza Williams

On this week's episode of Afro Futures, Yusuf Abdul-Qadir chats with Jawanza Williams. Jawanza is a Prison Abolitionist, Socialist, and Community Organizer. A native of Beaumont, Texas, he receive a BA in English from Schreiner University in 2012, and then moved to New York City, where he now works with the political organization Voices of Community Activists and Leaders.

Yusuf and Jawanza revisit the racial reckoning of 2020, the idea of building black futures, and the different approach that the ‘marijuana justice' campaign took in New York.
