Federal green incentives going away; will they halt sustainability progress?

WAER's environmental podcast Deeper Shade of Green with Dr. Chris Bolt

The federal government has ended or will end incentives designed to help people buy electric cars, heat pumps, electric stoves, renewable energy and other upgrades. The tax credits and rebates were meant to stem the use of fossil fuels and reduce climate change and its impacts. There's still time before the end of 2025 to capitalize, but time is running out, and supply and contractor availability could be barriers. Advocates for sustainability upgrades and electrification, however, say the progress on all fronts will continue.

On this episode of Deeper Shade of Green, Zach Pierce of Rewiring America explains what help people can get to reduce fossil fuel use, while making homes more energy efficient, more comfortable and less expensive int eh utility bill. He shares tools his organization offers to help. And Pierce is optimistic progress on renewable energy, electric vehicles and other efficiency tools will continue, boosted by state and other incentives and innovation.
