Talkback: Ep 13- Classroom

The college experience provides groundwork for the future, but this week on Talkback, a return to Syracuse means creating that future. Host Cooper Boardman talks with two SU professors, Matt Park and Rich Cimini, who work in the industry and return to teach and mentor students.

Matt Park, "The Voice of the Orange," grew up in Central New York, graduated from SU in 1997 and has called play-by-play for Syracuse football and basketball since 2004. In his conversation with Cory Berberian, Park details why he returned home and the background that led him to teaching at the Newhouse school.

Rich Cimini is the ESPN NFL Nation reporter covering the New York Jets. The 1985 SU graduate began writing about the Jets in 1989 and is now the longest-tenured beat writer in the history of the franchise, including a 25-year stint in which he worked for both Newsday and the New York Daily News. He talks with Corey Spector about how the industry has changed during that time and the feeling he gets when he returns to teach each Spring.

Kevin Kloss is proud to serve as the Content and Operations Manager at WAER Syracuse Public Media. In addition to managing content for broadcast and digital distribution he also oversees the Sports department at WAER and their coverage of Syracuse University athletics. He also plays an important role as the lead producer for several of the station’s flagship programs including Syracuse Speaks and City Limits.
