David graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2001 with a degree in Sociology, concentrating in Pre-Law, but his passion for audio, sound, and music led him to establish a home studio in Buffalo, NY, where he recorded local bands and worked at venues providing live sound. This experience eventually led to an opportunity at WBFO, where he mixed live bands for broadcast at the Allen Hall Theatre. His growing interest in both the radio studios and transmitter site ultimately guided him into a career as a broadcast engineer.

Chas joined WPLN in 2015 after eight years with The Tennessean, including more than five years as the newspaper's statehouse reporter.Chas has also covered communities, politics and business in Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. Chas grew up in South Carolina and attended Columbia University in New York, where he studied economics and journalism.
