Climate Action Council

New York State has one of the strongest climate protection laws in the country, the CLCPA. But emissions reduction targets & renewable energy goals are being weakened amid budget concerns.

The Climate Action Council approved an ambitious plan to combat climate change earlier this week. It includes a cap-and-trade program for energy producers, the eventual electrification of home heating systems and cars, and building out the power grid to include more renewable sources like wind and solar.
